Spanish pianist Carlos Sanchis-Aguirre has worked in recent years in the lyrical seasons of theaters such as the Paris Opera, the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid, Gran Teatro del Liceu of Barcelona, Villamarta Theater of Jerez, Théâtre de l'Athenée of Paris, Dijon Opera or Palau de les Arts from Valencia, working with directors such as Gustavo Dudamel, Juanjo Mena, Diego Matheuz or Guillermo García Calvo. He has performed in some of the most important halls in Europe such as Wiener Musikverein in Vienna, Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest or Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. Interested in chamber music since his beginnings in the profession, he specializes in the world of opera and collaboration with singers.
Between 2021 and 2023 he is a member of the Paris Opera Academy. Previously he specialized in Centre de Perfeccionament del Palau de les Arts (Valencia, 2019-2021), in the Georg Solti Academy (Venice, 2019) and in the Royal Northern College of Music (Manchester, 2018-2019) as a Junior Fellow in piano accompaniment.
He studied at the conservatories of Geneva (François Dumont award) and Zaragoza (final degree award) with Miguel Ángel Ortega Chavaldas and Dominique Weber, receiving a scholarship in 2017 from the Rotary Club of Madrid (Almudena Cano Scholarship). In 2018 he was also awarded a scholarship to be part of the Académie Musicale de Villecroze (France) working with pianist Louis Lortie.
Member of the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, the Nationaal Jeugdorkest (Holland) and the National Youth Orchestra of Spain, he also collaborates with the Symphony Orchestra of Asturias, the Orchestre de Chambre de Genève and the Orchestre de l'Opéra de Paris. Also interested in contemporary music, he takes part in several projects with the Drama Ensemble and works with the University of Tallinn (Estonia) together with the Australian flutist Jonathan Henderson.
